Gaia sends 3WayKisses and warm wishes to all of you!  Happy spring, summer, and fall seasons!

In the midst of planetary transformation, we have been navigating the shift on multiple helms.  The ecosexual movement is picking up steam, and we are honored to be part of it.  Let's treat Gaia like a lover, hostess, mother, we respect and revere!

Teaching students about the arts of loving as practiced in the early modern and modern period has been a joy rewarded with the good fortune to complete the academic year.  Veronica Franco and Giacomo Casanova are always big hits.  This year we also got in Ntozake Shange and bell hooks!  Remembering BiReCon and orchestrating BiTopia, the volume that collects its proceedings, has been another reward for yours truly.  Bi is "kewl"!  Bi Social Network interviews.  Listen here, click April 20.  We wish many more bi conferences in the future and were asked to celebrate 10 years of bisexuality with an occasional piece.  What recognition! 

Gaia's Shore, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico

Defending human rights and and shoring the assault on the public sector in Puerto Rico has been a priority as our university bleeds some of its best and most qualified people. Aprum and its allies have been helpful in supporting this.  With our livelihoods under assault, we've been keenly aware of how ugly greed looks when it's desperate with fear.  Meanwhile Gaia tends its shores with the sweet waves of the Caribbean.  The oceans have not inundated beach communities, and the dry season has been unusually cool.  Gaia's patience is admirable in the context of human ingratitude.  Fukushima's radiation sears complex organisms with the Petkau effect that stores toxicity in our tissues.  Perhaps Gaia is waiting for ecosexuals to soar and teach the arts of loving that can shift planetary consciousness to manifest an energy field that can heal nature from human abuse.

Gilf Gaia Extraordinaire

The first event is approaching soon.  Ecosexual Unite for an Ecosex Symposium & Art Exhibit, says the press release.  Coming up on June 17-19!  Ecosex artists extraordinaire Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens produce at the new Center for Sex and Culture in San Francisco.  What an honor to be invited to speak! Fakistra beach, Greece

Next in line is yours truly's trip to Kalikalos, Greece, the holistic community that hosted her seminars on "Gaia and Amorous Resources: What's Holistic about Poly?" last year, with Bonobo Coaching sessions to follow up on the epiphanies that ensued.  I sure don't know what it is, but when a culture is replete with such ancient wisdom, the dualisms of modernity don't seem to make a big difference.  Things are all so integrated, so symbiotic it's not even worth mentioning that we're all part of the same living ecosystem.  If sharing resources is what creates abundance, why not go the poly way and figure out how to share resources of love too?  Kalikalos is an inclusive international community held together by host extraordinaire Jock Millenson, an admirer of Zegg and scholar of intentional communities.  Kalikalos hosts great facilitators, including Brad Branton of Radical Honesty Rag.  Check it out here.  This summer the trip includes yours truly's beautiful daughter Paola and her two wonderful children, Alessio and Leonardo.  We will be there June 25th to July 8th.  Sign up for a holistic vacation during that period and you'll find out how to make your love life more holistic, with the added bonus of Bonobo Coaching open to you.

Ecosexuality

Five days of Ecosexuality in Italy with yours truly and Robert Silber comes up right next, July 16-21.  This is the first multilingual course on this theme, with an experiential and theoretical curriculum.  When Conscious Sensuality meets 3WayKiss things can become quite interesting.  The ecosexual arts of conscious loving become real.  Translator extraordinaire Veronika Reizner, also a holistic healer, joins the team from Austria too.  Participants come from as far as Turkey and New Zealand and everywhere in between.  We will be in the heart of the Alps, mountains of pristine beauty.  Enjoying the taste of Italian cuisine.  What could be a better setting for an ecosexual consciousness about to break lose?  A few slots are left for those with a strong interest.  Check it out here and grab one immediately!  The cost goes up to full price on May 31st.

Zegg is next with its Summercamp week, July 22-29.  In the heart of Germany's eastern region, this intentional community models open relationships and shared living in ways that are exemplar and unique.  Summercamp is their holistic-organization week.  The core groups opens up to visitors.  "Eros and Community" is this year's theme. Yours truly signs up to peak in.  Her chance to learn how to organize expanded families based on sexual fluidity and amorous inclusiveness. 

Toronto, Canada

Last and by all means not least is a trip to Toronto, for the fall Canadian edition of the ISTA Conference, the International School of Temple Arts.  The arts of loving are sacred to Gaia: they are the source of all life, creativity, consciousness, healing.  Accordingly, the Toronto team has secured the Bathurst Center, an educational space in culture, arts, and media.  The team is gang-ho about ecosexual love too.  Yours truly will be leading workshops and keynoting on her favorite theme.  What an honor to be invited to speak!  Toronto is vibrant with intellectual energy applied to the arts of loving and healing.  Yours truly has mobilized all her friends, acquaintances, and co-leaders to participate in this.  It will be a path-breaking experience, an epiphany for healers and artists of love to synergize the planetary consciousness that allows ecosexual love to heal nature from human abuse.  Join us and be part of the paradigm shift to the world we need.  Love of love is sacred and the art of teaching it is revered.  More on this as things evolve.  Stay tuned.  Follow our blog for updates, join our list, and "like" the Gaia page" on Facebook.  It all pays off when you get to hear what intriguing things we've been up to!

Who we are and why we teach this:
 

Robert Silber, M.S, LMT: Since entering the realm of conscious sensuality, he has studied and taught with the Network for New Culture, One Taste, Essensual Evolution (co-founder), and worked with many sacred sexuality and tantra teachers. He practices ashtanga yoga, is a licensed massage therapist, and loves to give massage incorporating the elements of lomi lomi, thai, cranial sacral and pelvic release techniques in a process that is deeply empowering and transformative.  He also provides conscious sensuality coaching via phone/email/in person.

He is a nature lover, master gardener, and was appointed by Robert Kennedy, Jr. as a Riverkeeper. He has worked in the fields of environmental activism, political organizing with Sierra Club, is a certified permaculture designer and co-founded an intentional community and environmental education center in Hawai’i.

He brings these two aspects together in the Kipuka Temple Community, where he has provided a framework of sensual living involving beautiful spaces, permaculture gardens, sustainable living, spiritual cultivation, and perhaps most importantly - a community grounded in conscious communication and intimacy building.

From this location, Robert travels to the mainland and internationally to lead workshops and events.  He is currently finishing a book on conscious sensuality, community and sustainability.

Serena Anderlini-D'Onofrio, PhD, is a writer, professor, leader, healer, and activist in the paradigm shift toward a Gaian future where humanity makes peace with our hostess planet. She is a successful coach and workshop leader working on polyamory and bisexuality issues. She believes that the Sacred Sex Movement, the Global Ecology Movement and the Holistic Health Movement are part of this paradigm shift. She is currently active in the global Polyamory, Bisexuality, Ecosexuality, and AIDS Dissidence movements and communities. Her latest book, Gaia & the New Politics of Love: Notes for a Poly Planet, was released in September 2009, from North Atlantic Books, Berkeley. It is now available digitally in Kindle edition, and is a Silver Winner in Cosmology and New Science for the Nautilus Book Awards. Serena is a world class keynote speaker and workshop leader who has presented in California, Washington State, New England, the United Kingdom, and Greece. She also coaches clients on ecosexuality and relatedness issues.

   L'articlo è proprio ben fatto, con una certa analisi, sfondo storico, cenni sul cinema, illustrazioni piacevoli, ed il "lessico familiare" di chi il poliamore lo pratica.  Le interviste riflettono una varietà di prospettive di chi ha esperienza del poliamore e lo ha studiato.

Dear Mr. Holder:

As Puerto Rican scholars teaching in the United States we have decided to write to you in order to express our deep concern with regard to recent developments at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR). For the past months, the University has experienced a continuing conflict that began last semester with a call for a strike by the students in response to an increase in academic tuition and related to fears about the future of public higher education on the island. Unfortunately, university administrators, professors, and students have not been able to negotiate a satisfactory agreement. The whole process has recently culminated in the intervention of Governor Luis Fortuño and the deployment of a massive police presence on the main university campus at Río Piedras and on other campuses in the system, including a private security contractor and fully armed SWAT units.

On December 13, Chancellor Ana R. Guadalupe banned all meetings, festivals, manifestations, and all other so-called large activities on the Río Piedras campus for a period of thirty days. In our view, this represents a clear breach of fundamental constitutional rights. The justifications given by the Chancellor are that this measure is required in order to keep the campus open and to return it to normal operations. Furthermore, professors and workers are being asked (under the threat of punishment) to continue working despite the intense volatility caused by the police presence on campus.

We remain very concerned that such use of force may in fact increase the potential for violence and continued tension, especially if the guarantees of freedom of speech, association, and assembly have been revoked. Both the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico guarantee these rights. Moreover, this week the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico (which, without the opportunity for serious public debate, was recently restructured by the government of Luis Fortuño in order to ensure a clear majority of judges in his favor) declared, in a disturbing resolution, that strikes will be prohibited at all UPR campuses effective immediately.

We the undersigned write to you as scholars and citizens because of the potentially lethal conditions that we have described and that prevail at the UPR. That is why we urge you to intervene in order to:

1.    Guarantee the constitutional rights of freedom of speech, association, and assembly as stipulated by both constitutions and to see that the conflict is conducted under the strictest observation of human and civil rights for all parties involved.
2.    Procure the immediate withdrawal of all state and city police, private contractors, and other non-UPR security personnel from the University of Puerto Rico system currently under occupation.
3.    Call all parties to meet and have a truly productive dialogue.

In the wisdom of love, we understand that the arts of loving can save Gaia, the live planet, because they are part of the arts of healing.  A key concept in these arts is compersion, which comes from polyamory and is often understood as 'the opposite of jealousy.'  Compersion is the joy of sharing the amorous resources that bless our lives.  It is the bliss of witnessing the love our partners receive from others than ourselves.  Jealousy often registers as a humiliating emotion.  How can this emotion transform into joy?  The 2 1/2 hour workshop is designed to teach this transformation in a series of small-group exercises that impact our inner and outer landscapes.  Compersion, the spirit of polyamory, is a vibration that animates our bodies with joy and participation, once we become familiar with the bioenergetics of this inclusive, liberating emotion.

Serena Anderlini-D'Onofrio, PhD, is a professor of humanities at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez.  She is the author of Eros: A Journey of Multiple Loves, and the editor of numerous collections.  She teaches courses, workshops, and seminars on the practice of love and the science of Gaia.

LOS ANGELES, CA.—What’s an ecosexual? Why are skinny-dipping, mysophilia and arboreal frottage so pleasurable? Where is the e-spot? Can the budding ecosexual movement help save the world? These are some of the questions that will be discussed at an Ecosex Symposium; a public forum where art meets theory meets sex education meets practice. The organizers of this first of its kind event are Annie Sprinkle, Ph.D., a feminist-porn-star and artist, turned “sexecologist,” and Elizabeth Stephens, a UCSC art professor and environmental activist. The two women explain, “As a strategy to create a more mutual and sustainable relationship with our abused and exploited planet, we are switching the metaphor from the Earth as mother, to Earth as lover.” The Symposium will be on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 24^th, at the cutting-edge art hotbed, Highways Performance Space, in Santa Monica. A diverse panel of artists, academics, sex educators, and environmental activists will take turns presenting, performing, showing and telling. 

Ecosex relationship coach, and author of Polyamory in the 21st Century, Debora Taj Anapol, Ph.D. will give an overview of what ecosex is all about-- clinically, spiritually and socio-politically. Ecosexual theorist and author of seminal text, Gaia and the New Politics of Love, Serena Anderlini, Ph.D. is flying in from the University of Puerto Rico to present her views about “how the Earth stores and runs the energy of love.” Good Vibration’s resident sexologist, Carol Queen, Ph.D., will be discussing ecorotic issues in the sex toy industry. Kamala Devi and the Tantra Theater will act out the audience’s ecosex fantasies. Dr. Robert Lawrence, Ph.D., will cover ecosex fetishes. The panels will be moderated by TV and film actor, Veronica Hart, who will also offer an animal rights perspective. Award winning porn stars Jiz Lee and April Flores, and porn director Carlos Batts will discuss green porn and present a waterfall scene from their film, Dangerous Curves. Tania Hammidi will do a dance piece about conflict, genocide and olive trees. Comedic relief will come from EcoElf. The editor of the highbrow art magazine, Ms. Use, will attend from Israel to show off her ecosex themed issue. Other artists collaborating are C. Finley, Spyce Spycey, Luna Bella, Joegh Bullock, Lady Monster, Cindy Baker, Megan Morman, HB3, Dylan Bowls, Jayme Waxman and others.

The Symposium is also a “honeymoon” for organizers, Elizabeth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle. LOS ANGELES, CA.-- Hundreds of "ecosexual" artists, academics, famous sex workers, and environmental activists are heading to Los Angeles for a Purple Wedding to the Moon, the brainchild of artist-brides, Annie Sprinkle and Elizabeth Stephens. This will be their sixth large-scale, ecology inspired wedding. "The environment has always been our creative partner, as in 'ashes to ashes, dust to dust,' says Elizabeth Stephens, an art professor at the University of California in Santa Cruz, whose personal roots lie in West Virginia where mountaintop removal mining runs rampant. "In a twist on the traditional marriage vows, each of our eco-themed weddings is an invitation for people to 'promise to love, honor, and cherish the Earth, Sky, Sea and Moon until death brings us closer together forever'." Annie Sprinkle, Ph.D., a porn star turned eco-sexologist emphasizes the fecundity of the earth; she links fertility and imagination. "We aim to make the environmental movement a little more sexy, fun and diverse through art."  Purple Wedding to the Moon will be held at FarnsworthPark's outdoor amphitheater in Altadena, Los Angeles, on October 23rd, the night of the full moon. Four hundred guests are expected to attend and over one hundred artists will collaborate on the creation of the wedding. The unorthodox union will be officiated by the popular performance artist Reverend Billy, accompanied by the Church of Life After Shopping Choir-- the subjects of the documentary film, What Would Jesus Buy? produced by Morgan Sperlock. Reverend Billy's sermons and activism about the "Shopocolypse," over-consumption, and corporate greed have gotten him arrested dozens of times.
            Stephens, Sprinkle and Reverend Billy got upset when they learned that N.A.S.A. had bombed the moon prospecting for water. They wondered "why can't we just take better care of the water here on Earth?"  "We wanted to do something," cried Stephens.  "So we are marrying the Moon, but it's really also about loving the Earth."  Last year Sprinkle and Stephens married the Sea in Italy at the Venice Biennale.  They have also married the Earth in Croatia and the Sky in England.
