Gaia Mother, Hostess, Lover - Keynote - World's First Ecosexuality Symposium

And finally, the HoneyMoon starts. The brides, now wedded to Gaia's satellite, invited all of us to share their sacred nuptial time.

Listen to yours truly's keynote opening remarks:

Notes from the Symposium's Opening Remarks

"Evil nature: the kind of thinking typical of western mentality, where we want control, and that gets us to global warming. We're so afraid to let go of our anxiety that we end us causing our own doom and Gaia kicks us out!

Nature as Mother: this is nice, typical of environmentalist culture, nature is a good old woman, we must 'save' her, oh well . . .

Earth as 'lover,' says Annie Sprinkle, makes ecology sound like fun!

I like to come back to the concept of Gaia, which lives as myth, science, and part of vernacular culture.

It refers to the web of life on the third planet: biosphere, atmosphere, and, I would like to add, noosphere, or the sphere of the interconnected mental/emotional energies of all those who are alive.

What I'd like to propose is that we imagine Gaia as hostess, with us humans as guests among others.

Hostess as mother: we live inside, it's cozy, and at one point we get kicked
out.

Hostess as lover: someone who welcomes us in their lives, who holds the
space of love for us, who acts as a resource of love for us.

Hosts and guests are ecosystems, they are symbiotic with one another, they exchange
energies and rebalance, they respect each other's balance, they enhance it, they must not deplete each other too much.

Ecosystemic balance is what we want in our practices of ecosexual love.

These are practices of love that respect, enhance the balance, the vitality of our personal ecosystem and our lovers's, and our lovers's lovers, and so on and so forth around the planet.

These are practices of holistic sexual health that enhance the tantric force field across the body of Gaia and activate the material with the sacred energy of love, or Eros as the ancients called it.

The biosphere, the atmosphere, the noosphere become resacralized with this erotic energy of love, the chakra system of each person becomes aligned and the whole body of Gaia becomes integrated and balanced.

In ecosex we are resources of love for each other and we multiply the connectedness among all of us so that we become more respectful guests to our hostess, we become more loving and considerate of her.

How does the noosphere enter the picture, one might ask? Cyberspace is an actualization of the sphere of the mind, it is telepathy on wi-fi. Cyberspace is also a space of the imagination where the very concepts of sex, love, faithfulness, romance, eroticism are being redefined, it is a new space where the emotions travel.

When we become more cognizant of how the sacred (eco) and the material (sex) are one, of how matter and energy are aligned, the noosphere becomes more integrated and active, more creative and imaginative, so that solutions to the current ecosystemic crisis are found."

And on this hopeful note, yours truly ended her remarks. Many subsequent talks, acts, performances, dances followed. What creativeness! What abundance!

At the end, many participants were inspired to get their own copy of Gaia. This book had finally found its public. Woooooow! Yours truly really felt that all the flack, the adverse reaction, the struggles of last year were rewarded. She felt really proud of her effort and appreciated for her gifts to the world and humanity.

Now that you are preparing to choose your Solstice/Holiday Season gifts, don't forget to pick one that helps humanity make peace with the third planet. Where would we all be without her hospitality? How would we desire, meet, fall in love with each other? She provides the space for us to thrive and deserves to be treated with reverence and awe. Let's begin now!

For a list of works where you can begin your education in Ecosexuality, go to the author's page now! You can download Gaia on Kindle and start reading in the next five minutes! Don't waste more time!

Wishing a joyful Solstice, and Christmas, and New Year to each and everyone!

Message from Gaia - Ecosexuality: Purple Wedding to the Moon, LA, Oct 23, 2010

At the Purple Wedding to the Moon, yours truly was invited to deliver a message from Gaia.  Performance art at its best.  Annie and Beth, and the whole ecosex weddings crowd!  What an honor.  What inspiring company around!
She felt the energy of the third planet shiver into her body, and was inspired to speak with the voice of the third planet, thus:

Message from Gaia

Gaia is very happy that we are marrying her satellite.  She is not jealous, she is a very generous lover who is willing to share her favorite astral partner with us.

Gaia, the web of life that sustains us humans on the third planet, is asking us here to imagine the full moon over a body of water with the shimmering light of the moonwake like a magic staircase that brings the moon s magnetism into our lives.

Gaia also asks me to invite you to the world s first symposium about ecosexuality, where, inspired by this ceremony, we are going to be part of the brides honey moon.

Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica, 3-6 pm, limited space, show up on time!

This meeting of the minds (and bodies, bring your bodies too!) is designed to invent and discover together what is ecosexuality? This symposium, where arts meets theory meets practice, is where we will invent a million ways to bring the sacred and the erotic back together, to become the expanded resources of love for one another that will persuade Gaia that we humans are still welcome guests on the third planet.

Click on video to see the message delivered alive!

Aren't you falling in love with ecosexuality? Remember, ecosexuality is good for everyone. The author's page has a whole range of books where you can start learning about it, as well a string of other sources! It's all good, what you've been doing all along or always dreamed of doing and are about ready to start. Find out why expanded practices of love help humanity make peace with our hostess planet!

Ecosexuality: a way of being sexual that's ecological, natural, balanced, amorous, exploring, playful, inclusive, adventurous, holistic, sacred, Gaian, erotic, considerate, consensual, responsible, and healthy, all simultaneously, separately, and in different proportions.

Oh the sweet music of Gaia, can you hear it? Ecosensual Water Kiss

Perhaps you'll find this waaaaaaay too romantic and syrupy, one more video of the full moon, what could be more conventional, trite, deja vu?

And yet, and yet, when we put these things in the context of ecosexuality they acquire a completely new, fresh meaning. Yours truly was honored to be at Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens' ecosexual Wedding to the Moon in Altadena last month, and she came home with this impulse to honor her moon rituals with this video. Living near the Moon, as she comes close to your window and as the moon wake whispers her sweet songs to you over the ripples that kiss the beach. Oh my goddess! That's where the inspiration comes from! How could I not see it before? Or at least, perhaps I did, but not so tangibly, not so completely. The Moon is kissing with the silver ripples that caress the shore of Playa Azul. What is she telling me? She is urging me to bring Gaia's message of hospitality to people! Oh Moon, oh changing Luna, you are a satellite to our mother, lover, sister, hostess, the third planet, the only celestial body willing to have us in her. Annie and Beth are now married to you, and Gaia is cool with that. Listen to the ecosensual water kiss . . . .

And when you decide what to read this Solstice/Holiday Season, make the right choice for you and the planet too! Learn all about ecosexual theory from Gaia, yours truly's favorite book, and find out how to live your life as an experiment in ecological practices of love from her memoir Eros.

You can get both for $ 53.23, with the added bonus of a Taormino book. What a treat! What a thoughtful Solstice/holiday Season gift!

Even better, visit her author's page on Amazon.com and choose what really inspires you to live the ecosexual life of your dreams while you become an artist of love whose creativity helps humanity make peace with our sacred hostess.

Listen to this video again on winter Solstice, and on Christmas Eve, and on New Year's Eve. The whole concept of making love to nature, making love with nature will come true to you. Feel the caressing wake of the full moon kissing the beach with its water lips. Choose ecosexuality and start to learn all about it immediately!

Your truly sends her grateful greetings to you. She sends warm wishes for a delightful Solstice/Holiday season. And remember, it's not ALL about the water kiss!

Giving Ecosexual Thanks on the Day of Accion de Gracias

Oh well, you must have been wondering why we rushed to post this video without the slightest comment. It's so cute! It's really about persona, private life here in Western Puerto Rico, and how we really make it nice and cozy with our close friends. There is a certain intimacy that comes with living on an island where almost everyone knows after a bit. Here we are with our friends David and Javier in Ponce, ciudad senoral, which actually means town of distinguished, well-to-do people, and it really is, with its large avenues and southern tranquility. They invited us for a vegetarian Tanksgiving dinner, can you imagine: no turkey! They had prepared the most exquisite meal, served on the indoor patio on a cool evening. How cheerful!

We are so late posting comments to this because we were involved in a tech upgrade which turned out to be very efficient but made things a bit confused during the transition. Yours truly had been told that her computer skills and multiple systems deserved a Mac. And she got it! Oh technology, let me be slave to Thee! It is a good system and we are enjoying its efficiency.

Thanks to all the geeks who suggested the switch!

And a belated Buen Dia de Accion de Gracias to you!

New Paradigms # 8: Gaia and Ecosex, or, Our Planet, Ourselves

What's ecosex? A new buzz word people use to describe their sexual orientation in personals. A new way to look at Eros, the force of love, as part of planetary consciousness? Would you describe yourself as 'ecosexual'? Yes, no, why?

New Paradigms # 7: Gaia and the Commons, or, Supporting Public Education...

When we invest in prisons, we produce criminals, when we invest in public education we produce people with college degrees. What practice will yield the best pay off? As Schwarzenegger, governor of California. Students at the University of Puerto Rico also seem to know: they have defended the UPR system in a two-month strike that saw all the 11 campuses united in a sustainable effort to protect public education from Fortuno, a governor that wants to auction public assets off. Regenerating the commons is part of the effort to generate abundance out of scarcity by sharing resources. Resources of knowledge, or, in gnosis, resources of love.

New Paradigm # 6: Gaia and Amorous Resources, or, Poly Planetary Consci...

When we share amorous resources we generate abundance from scarcity in the realm of love. Why isn't there enough to go around in the ways of love? That's because we appropriate lovers, we turn them into our private resources when we enforce monogamy. Spontaneous, organic monogamy is just a version, an instance of polyamory. When we share ourselves more, we make ourselves available as amorous resources, resources of love. That creates abundance of what Gaia, our gracious hostess, needs most.

New Paradigms # 5: Gaia and Paganism, or, Making Nature Sacred

With Paganism, the sacred is pluralized again. We create many deities. Why were we ever taught that monotheism is superior? When we become polytheistic again, we relearn to respect all the forces and elements that these deities represent. And if monotheism is not more evolved than polytheism, where is the evidence that monogamy is superior to polyamory?

New Paradigms # 4: Gaia, the Sacred and the Material

When we separate the sacred from the material, we come to delude ourselves that matter is inert, that it won't react against our tyranny, our abuse, that we won't be held accountable for disrespecting it. But is matter really inert? Hasn't science taught us that matter is energy in a different form?

New Paradigms # 3: Gaia is Gay!

Why should anyone believe that nature is heterosexual? Where could this belief possibly come from? The word Gaia means 'gay' in Italian. It means cheerful, happy, playful diverse. Isn't that the way our planet is?

New Paradigms # 2: Gaia as a Force of Nature

Ancient Greek mythology teaches us that certain forces of nature are more powerful than any human can be. Gaia, the earth; Aeolus, the wind; Uranus, the sky; Chronos, time; Eros, the force of love. This power has been in our face with the oil spill in the Gulf. A good time to relearn the lessons of mythology: why fight battles that cannot be won? The mythological aspect of Gaia theory connects us with our own very nature as well. Another good reason to encourage poly and other ecosexual styles of love.

New Paradigms # 1: Gaia Science and Polyamory

New science and cosmology encourage a paradigm shift toward more symbiotic styles of love. We humans are welcome on the third planet under the auspices of our hostess Gaia. If we want to continue to be welcome, we may as well learn from the species who've been around quite long, including bacteria, our 4-billion year old ancestors, who have sex with their neighbors all the time for no other reason than to rejuvenate themselves. Bacteria are slightly orgiastic and very symbiotic. They are a good ecosexual model for us. Woooooooow! Watch the video for more info and details!

How the Wisdom of Love Transforms Gaia: Modeling Choice for Children and Grandchildren

In talking about poly lovestyles, the question of 'children' often comes up. "It's ok as long as only adults are involved, but what about children? Can they be 'exposed' to such things and still grow up to be sane and happy people?" Find out all about this and more in this clip. Hear the wisdom of poly grandmothers with two generations of descendants who are happy to have them be part of the family and respect them for who they are!

Here's another clip from the Double Book Launch on 6/22.  Enjoy and let us know what you think.  And for more info on it all, don't forget to order your copy of Gaia and the New Politics of Love!

How the Wisdom of Love Transforms Gaia: Inventing the Families We Need

What is a nuclear family?  How did this type of family come into being?  Whose interests does this invention serve?  When did it become prevalent and why?  What is 'nuclear' about it?  Why do some people think it's the only possible type of family and/or the most advanced one?  What are new ways to think about 'family' that better serve the future of our species?

All of this stuff came up when Taj and yours truly were reading at Open Secret Bookstore, at the Double Book Launch we held on June 22.  We promised more details about it, and here we are!

People often ask me about families, and how they became nuclear.  In fact, many even seem to think that families have always been nuclear, that there's never been another model for what a family is supposed to look like, or even that there is something inherently 'natural' to families being of this kind.

But what is 'nuclear' about families, really? Are these kinds of families supposed to explode, like atoms? Are they an invention of the nuclear age? Do they look like atoms, and if so, which ones? Carbon? Oxygen? Hydrogen? Uranium? Perhaps they've got some nuclear energy inside, in which case they should be handled carefully, right?  If they are enriched, they can become even more unstable, and that can start the process of atomic fission, where they splinter into little particles.  In this case, they fall under George W's special category, 'nukular,' remember? The famous word that egregious president could not pronounce?

In any event, and jokes aside, the nuclear family, explosive or not, is a very recent invention.  If we consider the infinite ways in which life has become organized in order to nurture itself through time on the face of our multifarious hostess Gaia, including all of human cultures and the cultures of other species, we find out that in the history of what we may call 'family,' the nuclear family is really a split second. Just a blink of the eye. And not the happiest or most interesting one.

The clip explains when and why the nuclear family became prevalent. What kind of paradigm it is part of, and why this paradigm no longer serves life in general, or human life in particular.  Nothing wrong with nuclear families. They serve a purpose. But to move into a Gaian future, the whole idea of what constitutes family must be placed in a much wider horizon.

Check it out!

Yours truly hopes you enjoy the video. Please help us imagine what the video does not say. What families can we invent to met our needs? Suggestions are welcome!

Families are about love, right? So a new politics of love is also a new politics about families, right?  If you're not sure what's political about families, find out all about it in Gaia and the New Politics of Love.

Namaste,

Gaia

How the Wisdom of Love Transforms Gaia: On Being the Resources We Share

Friends keep telling me that people don't understand what I mean.  "She uses strange words," they say, or at least, "she uses words in a strange way.  Why does she do that? What does she really mean?"

"That's the point," I think to myself, very shy, very humbled, very timid, "making up new words, new phrases, using words that are unfamiliar, making familiar words sound new."

That's the power of words, the power of literature, if you will.  What I was trained in.  (Arhhhhhg, what a mistake to presume one can relinquish some ignorance!)

"These people," I think, "they really want it easy.  Not only I learned their language so I can speak to them.  But then if I use words of their language that for one reason or another sound queasy, they become suspicious of me.  There's no way to do right by them!"

"What's this fear?"  Fear of words.  One cannot be afraid of words.  Words are NOT things.  They only represent things.  Or do they?  Can words also MAKE things?  Can they CHANGE things?  Can they affect, transform, reinterpret, create REALITY?

Of course they can. All poets are keenly aware of this. Otherwise why would they spend time playing with words?

So, a case in point is this video clip.  From The Wisdom of Love, a double book launch Deborah Taj Anapol and me held at Open Secret Bookstore on June 22, 2010.  It's a bit late to post.  I know.  Took a long time to figure, with us being a team of wise, wise, wise people.  So ancient is our wisdom that we're not all that familiar with latest tech stuff for social media. But we get it eventually.  And for this clip, we owe courtesy to Steve Hoffman of Oakaland, California, who shot, cut, and reduced for us.

So, what's the fun with words here?  Well, "RESOURCES."  People in ecology, in environmental science talk about 'resources,' right?  "Limited resources."  "Sources of energy that are 'renewable'," as in wind, solar, hydro: ways to create power that generate themselves again every day, that are commonly owned/shared.  That don't involve pollution or extinction of the source when it's most needed.  See what's happening with the oil spill.  Easy oil is almost gone now.  And we're ever more dependent on it.  While it's also turning our amiable hostess Gaia into an oven.  Ouch! I'm cooking! I'm being cooked!

So then, resources is the issue, right?  Why can't we BE the resources we seek?  Sounds Oedipal?  It is!  What happens if we begin to think of ourselves as the resources we need?  What if we begin to practice BEING resources for each other?

A whole lot!  Big shift in thinking.  Now we don't need a lot of resources.  We need to interpret each other AS resources.  And what can we trade that is, as Stan Dale would say, "free"?  We can trade LOVE, or 'amor,' or 'amore,' or 'amour' as those hopelessly Romantic, romance language people would say.

Then we see that being POLYAMOROUS, being capable, by nurture, by nature (who knows?) of trading these AMOROUS RESOURCES with a whole bunch of people is NOT a dangerous perversion, is NOT a problem, is NOT a liability, is NOT a sign of being promiscuous or a misfit.  IT IS ACTUALLY A VIRTUE!!!

Yes, you heard me.  BEING POLY IS ACTUALLY A VIRTUE!  It should be rewarded as a free recycling system, as a national forest deep-ecology biodiversity sustaining nurturing ecosystem. It should be cause for being nominated for the Nobel Prize for Peace!

"But wait a minute," you must be saying, "is this for real?"  "Sounds like a trick to justify some wicked perversion."

Well, I leave the final judgment to you.  It's on the video.  Somebody in the audience at Open Secret asked "what's the connection between Gaia the living planet and open love, open relating?"

That's how I explained it!

Go ahead and listen . . . .

Then, if you like what you hear, you can get more info from the source of my wisdom, Gaia and the New Politics of Love.  This book was inspired by one who IS the pleasure he seeks.  Watch out for the book's new digital edition, coming soon.  Meanwhile, get your paper version and start practicing love's wisdom.

There will be more posts and clips.  The momentous series of events we held in Norther California in June-early July will be unfolding digitally as we post clips and snippets, with comments.

We look forward to YOUR comments too!

Namaste,

Gaia
